Shopify overview

The Transdirect Shopify app brings carrier-calculated shipping rates directly into your Shopify checkout. Your customers see live quotes from multiple couriers — including road, air, and express services — and choose the option that suits them best.

Behind the scenes, the app sends each customer’s delivery details and cart contents to Transdirect, retrieves real-time pricing from our courier network, and presents the results as shipping options at checkout.

Live checkout rates

Display real-time courier quotes at checkout based on the customer’s suburb, postcode, and cart contents.

Product dimensions

Set weight and dimensions per product or per variant. Bulk import dimensions for large catalogues via CSV.

Order sync

Automatically upload orders to your Transdirect members area on checkout — ready to book and print labels.

Rules engine

Create rules based on postcode, state, weight, cost, product SKU, or quantity to control which couriers appear and at what price.

Courier management

Enable or disable couriers, rename services, group couriers, and apply surcharges or fixed prices per courier.

Order boxing

Define up to five box sizes and let the app calculate the optimal packing arrangement using volumetric weight.

Multipickup and frequent rates

Access discounted frequent rates from Aramex and Couriers Please for high-volume stores.

Flexible display modes

Choose between a full calculator, simplified view, or no display — and control whether to show all quotes, cheapest only, or cheapest and fastest.

  1. Customer enters their address

    At checkout, the customer provides their delivery suburb and postcode. The app detects whether the address is residential or business.

  2. The app requests quotes

    The app sends the cart items — with weights and dimensions — to the Transdirect API, which queries multiple couriers simultaneously.

  3. Quotes are displayed

    Available shipping options appear as selectable rates at checkout, filtered by your courier settings and rules.

  4. Order is synced

    When the customer completes checkout, the order details are optionally synced to your Transdirect members area for booking and label generation.

  • A Shopify store on a plan that supports carrier-calculated shipping rates (Shopify Advanced, Shopify Plus, or any plan with the carrier-calculated shipping add-on)
  • A Transdirect member account with an API key — see the quickstart guide
  • Product weights configured in your Shopify catalogue (dimensions are recommended for accurate volumetric pricing)
