CSV field reference
This page documents every field in the Transdirect CSV import template. For multi-item orders (multiple rows sharing the same Order ID), most fields only need to appear on the first row — subsequent rows only require the Order ID and item-specific fields.
Order fields
Section titled “Order fields”Order ID
Section titled “Order ID”A unique identifier for the order. All items belonging to the same consignment must share the same Order ID.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Must appear on every row
Goods description
Section titled “Goods description”An accurate description of the goods being shipped. This is used by couriers for customs and handling purposes.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Carrier
Section titled “Carrier”The preferred courier for this order. Enter the courier name exactly as it appears in Transdirect (e.g. “Toll”, “TNT”, “Fastway”).
- Required: No
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
- Behaviour: If the specified courier is available for the route, it is automatically selected. If multipickup rates are available for the courier, they are auto-detected.
Pickup date
Section titled “Pickup date”The requested pickup date in DD/MM/YYYY format.
- Required: No
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
- Minimum: The next business day from the date of import
Receiver fields
Section titled “Receiver fields”Address type
Section titled “Address type”The type of delivery address.
- Required: No (defaults to Residential if blank)
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
- Valid values:
Business,Commercial,Residential,Private
Receiver name
Section titled “Receiver name”The full name of the person receiving the delivery.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Email address
Section titled “Email address”The receiver’s email address. Used to send tracking notifications.
- Required: No
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Phone number
Section titled “Phone number”The receiver’s phone number. Used as a secondary contact for delivery.
- Required: No
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Business name
Section titled “Business name”The business name at the delivery address. Required for commercial deliveries.
- Required: No (but recommended for business/commercial address types)
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Street address
Section titled “Street address”The street address for delivery. Do not include the suburb, postcode, or state — these are separate fields.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Suburb
Section titled “Suburb”The delivery suburb. Must match the postcode.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
Postcode
Section titled “Postcode”The delivery postcode. Must match the suburb.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
The state or territory for the delivery address.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
- Valid values: Two or three letter abbreviations, or full name. All of the following are accepted:
NSW,N.S.W,New South Wales
Country
Section titled “Country”The destination country.
- Required: No (defaults to Australia)
- Multi-item: Only required on the first row per Order ID
- Valid values: ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code (e.g.
AU,NZ) or full country name (e.g.Australia,New Zealand)
Item fields
Section titled “Item fields”These fields describe the individual items in the order. For multi-item orders, each row must include its own item details.
Weight
Section titled “Weight”The weight of the item in kilograms. Round up to the nearest whole kilogram.

- Multi-item: Required on every row
Length
Section titled “Length”The length of the item in centimetres. Round up to the nearest whole centimetre.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Required on every row
The width of the item in centimetres. Round up to the nearest whole centimetre.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Required on every row
Height
Section titled “Height”The height of the item in centimetres. Round up to the nearest whole centimetre.
- Required: Yes
- Multi-item: Required on every row
Quantity
Section titled “Quantity”The number of identical items with these dimensions.
- Required: No (defaults to 1)
- Multi-item: Applies per row
Packaging
Section titled “Packaging”The packaging type for the item.
- Required: No (defaults to Carton)
- Multi-item: Applies per row
- Valid values:
Carton,Skid,Pallet,Tube,Crate,Satchel,Bag,Envelope,Other
Alcohol / Glass / Liquids
Section titled “Alcohol / Glass / Liquids”Whether the item contains alcohol, glass, or liquids. This affects courier eligibility and handling requirements.
- Required: No (defaults to No)
