This site is the Transdirect developer documentation: the one place for the Transdirect API and the store plugins. It replaces the older API documentation on Apiary and GitBook. New to the API? Start with the Quickstart, which takes you from sign-up to a booked demo shipment with a label.

Transdirect is an Australian courier aggregator. One request returns prices from every courier that can carry your parcel. You pick one, confirm it, and Transdirect books the pickup and gives you the label.

The REST API

https://api.transdirect.com.au/api/v5, JSON over HTTPS with an api-key header. Use it to build quoting and booking into your own app, warehouse system or marketplace.

How a shipment works

  1. Quote. Send the pickup address, delivery address and items to POST /api/v5/quotes. You get a booking id and a price from each courier. See how quoting works.
  2. Confirm. Choose a courier from the quotes and a pickup date, and call POST /api/v5/bookings/{id}/confirm with a payment method. See the booking lifecycle and how payments work.
  3. Label. Download the PDF from GET /api/v5/bookings/{id}/label and stick it on the parcel.
  4. Track. Look up progress with GET /api/v5/tracking/{reference}. See tracking.

Switch on demo mode for your key to run all four steps for free. Demo bookings are never charged and never sent to a courier.

Contact Transdirect support through the contact page. For an API question, include these details so we can find your request:

  • The booking id, if the problem involves a booking. This is the id from the quote response, not your own order or consignment number.
  • The cf-ray response header, and the requestId from the response body if there is one. These identify the exact request in our logs.
  • The request: the method, the full URL and the JSON body. Remove your API key first.
  • The response: the HTTP status code and the full body.
  • When it happened, with the timezone.
