Courier settings

Courier settings let you control which couriers appear at checkout and how they are presented to your customers. You can disable couriers you don’t want to offer, rename services for clarity, group similar couriers together, and apply surcharges or fixed prices.

In your Shopify admin, go to AppsTransdirectCourier Settings.

Apply a blanket surcharge to all courier quotes. This is useful if you want to add a handling fee or margin to every shipping option.

SettingDescription
Surcharge typeChoose between a fixed amount (e.g. $5) or a percentage (e.g. 10%).
Surcharge valueThe amount or percentage to add to every courier quote.

The general surcharge is applied before any per-courier surcharges. Both surcharges stack — if you have a $5 general surcharge and a $3 per-courier surcharge, the total added to that courier’s quote is $8.

Toggle individual couriers on or off. Disabled couriers will not appear in checkout quotes, even if they return pricing for the customer’s route.

  1. Open courier settings

    Navigate to AppsTransdirectCourier Settings.

  2. Find the courier

Locate the courier you want to disable in the list.

  3. Toggle the courier off

Click the toggle next to the courier name to disable it. The courier will no longer appear at checkout.

Customise how courier names appear to your customers at checkout. This is useful for simplifying service names or grouping multiple couriers under a single label.

SettingDescription
Display nameThe name shown to the customer at checkout. For example, rename “Couriers Please Road” to “Standard Delivery”.

You can group multiple couriers under a single display name. When couriers are grouped, only the cheapest option from the group is shown to the customer.

For example, if you group Allied, TNT, and Toll under “Standard Delivery”, the customer sees a single “Standard Delivery” option at the cheapest price from those three couriers.

  1. Set the same display name

Give each courier in the group the same Display name (e.g. “Standard Delivery”).

  2. Save settings

The app automatically groups couriers with matching display names and shows only the cheapest option from each group.

Apply a surcharge to a specific courier’s quotes. This is useful when a particular courier has additional costs you want to pass on, or when you want to steer customers towards a preferred courier by making alternatives slightly more expensive.

SettingDescription
Surcharge typeFixed amount or percentage.
Surcharge valueThe amount or percentage to add to this courier’s quotes.

Per-courier surcharges are applied after the general surcharge.

Override a courier’s quoted price with a fixed amount. When a fixed price is set, the courier always shows the specified price regardless of the actual quote.

SettingDescription
Fixed priceThe price to display for this courier at checkout (AUD).
