What is the Transdirect Shopify app?

The Transdirect Shopify app is an embedded admin app that brings carrier-calculated shipping rates into your Shopify checkout. Your customers see live quotes from multiple couriers — road, air, and express — and choose the option that suits them.

Behind the scenes the app registers a Shopify carrier service, sends the cart’s weights and dimensions along with the delivery address to Transdirect, applies your courier line-up and rules, and returns rates at checkout. After onboarding you manage everything from inside the app, apart from the rules editors, which open in the Transdirect members area.

Real-time courier quotes at checkout based on suburb, postcode, and cart contents (requires a Shopify plan that supports third-party calculated rates).

Set weight and dimensions per product or variant, with bulk editing tools on the app’s Products screen.

Enable or disable services, rename labels, group names for a simpler checkout, surcharges, and fixed-price overrides.

Define cartons and packing behaviour so multi-item carts quote as packed boxes instead of loose items.

Multipickup and frequent rates

Discounted multipickup tiers for Couriers Please and Aramex when your Transdirect account qualifies.

Rules (members area)

Postcode and package-type rules are edited in the Transdirect members area and applied at quote time.

How it works

1. You install the app and complete onboarding

   Connect or create a Transdirect member account, choose packing and dimensions defaults, pick couriers, set pricing mode, configure order sync, and finish with a plan check that registers the carrier service.

2. Customer enters their address at checkout

   Shopify requests rates from the Transdirect carrier service for the cart.

3. Quotes are calculated and filtered

   Transdirect quotes your enabled couriers, then applies your display option (all quotes, cheapest, or cheapest and fastest) along with surcharges, multipickup tiers, boxing, and rules.

4. Order is optionally synced

   On payment, matching orders can be imported into the Transdirect members area for booking and labels (not auto-booked).

Requirements

• A Shopify store on a plan that supports third-party carrier-calculated rates (or the Shopify add-on). The app’s plan check step verifies this and installs the carrier service.
• Permission to install the Transdirect app from the Shopify App Store.
• Product weights in Shopify (dimensions strongly recommended; the app provides defaults and a Products editor).

Note

If your Shopify plan does not allow third-party calculated rates, live checkout rates cannot register. You can still complete other setup, but checkout will not show Transdirect carrier rates until the plan supports them.
