Configuration
Accessing settings
Section titled “Accessing settings”In Shopify admin: Apps → Transdirect → open Settings (Shipping preferences) from the Dashboard or app navigation.
Settings is the hub for everything you configured during onboarding. Most cards open a settings page in the app; the packing, courier, and pricing cards reopen the matching setup step; and the rules cards open your module in the Transdirect members area.

Show on cart
Section titled “Show on cart”Controls the label customers see and the default building type used when rates are requested.
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Title | The label shown against Transdirect shipping at checkout, such as “Transdirect Shipping”. |
| Default delivery building type | Residential or Commercial, used when an order carries no value of its own. Affects couriers that price residential deliveries differently. |
Default item size
Section titled “Default item size”Fallback length, width, and height used when a variant has no dimensions in the app or your catalogue.
| Field | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Length, width, and height | cm | Used when a product or variant has no dimensions of its own |
Weight always comes from the Shopify variant weight. Defaults do not replace missing weights.
Transit warranty
Section titled “Transit warranty”| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Enable warranty | Apply transit warranty on quotes when enabled for the module. |
| Declared value | Default declared value used when calculating warranty fees. |
Warranty fees are included in the rate total shown at checkout when enabled.
Quote options
Section titled “Quote options”These control which rates customers see once quoting is complete, and what is added to them:
| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Quote display | All quotes, Cheapest only, or Cheapest and fastest. |
| Tailgate pickup and delivery | Request a tail lift where it is needed, such as for heavy items. |
| Hide ETA | Hide estimated transit times from the rates shown at checkout. |
| General surcharge | A fixed amount or percentage added to every quote. Takes precedence over per-courier surcharges. |
| Fixed price on error | A fallback amount shown if quoting fails. Use with care, as it applies regardless of the real cost. |
Checkout pricing and packing mode
Section titled “Checkout pricing and packing mode”Both are set during onboarding. To change them, open the matching card in Settings, which reopens that setup step:
- Checkout pricing — how Transdirect rates are offered (live calculated rates require a plan that allows third-party carrier rates).
- Packing mode — whether orders ship in the product’s own packaging or are repacked into your box library. This drives order boxing behaviour.
Tailgate and heavy items
Section titled “Tailgate and heavy items”Items over 25kg generally need a forklift or a tailgate-equipped vehicle to load and unload. Most residential addresses have no forklift access, so enable the tailgate options in Quote options if you ship heavy goods to consumers. Where tailgate applies, its surcharge is included in the quoted total.
