Courier settings

Overview

Courier settings control which services appear at checkout and how they are labelled and priced. Configure them during the Couriers step of onboarding, and later via Apps → Transdirect → Settings → Couriers.

Domestic and international line-ups are managed separately.

General surcharge

A store-wide surcharge can be applied from Quote options as a fixed amount or a percentage.

Caution

The general surcharge and per-courier surcharges do not stack. When a general surcharge is configured it takes precedence, and the per-courier surcharge values are ignored. Use one approach or the other.

Disable couriers

Toggle individual services off so they never appear in checkout rates, even if Transdirect could quote them.

Note

Disabling a courier here only affects this Shopify store’s module. The service can still be available for manual bookings in the Transdirect members area.

Rename and group couriers

Setting	Description
Display name	The name shown to the customer at checkout. For example, rename a long service name to “Standard Delivery”.

Sharing a display name

The display name is also referred to as the group label. Giving several services the same name presents them consistently at checkout — for example, labelling Allied, TNT Road Express, and Couriers Please all as Standard Delivery.

Caution

Sharing a name relabels the services; it does not merge them. Every enabled courier is still sent to Shopify as its own rate, so several rates arrive carrying the same label rather than one combined cheapest option. If you want customers to see a single option, use the Cheapest quote display setting, or disable the services you do not want quoted.

Per-courier surcharge

Per-courier fixed price

Override the live quote with a fixed checkout price for that service. A fixed price is applied before surcharges and replaces them, so the customer pays exactly the amount you set. If the real cost is higher, you absorb the difference, so monitor your margins.
